Merry X'mas and Happy New Year!

Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a Merry X'mas! New year is right around the corner, i have a lot of plans for next year! Starting out with a new gallery site, its not finish yet, but not very far from it. I have to thank everyone who had check out my blog and the very kind comments. more clay!!!

Instead of one long six hours pose, this was five 3 hr sessions. I thought I would have gotten more done with 15hrs, um........not really :(   But more important, I really enjoy making the piece, and i learned something every time! Portrait open sessions is coming next term, i can't wait to start!

open session at The Seattle Sculpture Atelier on Saturday. It's a 6 hours session, I am recommending for anyone who is interested in sculpting, lots of fun and great people there. Also, Matt Buckner (who is a great sculptor and teacher) will be giving critique during the session. Armature and clay are provided.

more head bust....more wip......

a few head bust i did in zbrush, and started to develop more on one of them. hopefully i will get to finish the rest of them. but i have been very busy working on a freelance project, once that's done, i plan to work on a full character.

My idea is to design some aliens with EXO suits. I started off with an old base mesh to make a few head design I sculpted and polypainted in zbrush, and did some quick paint over in PS. Then I used zsphere to created the body for one of the head. My next plan is to complete the first one with the helmet, then move onto the other ones.

i created this character base off of Kekai's concept. Budget for the low poly was 4500 tris with 1024*1024 normal, diffuse and specular, and 1 bit alpha was used.

Vampire bust

finally, worked on something new with my spare time. not so sure how far i m gonna get with this piece, but i m gonna spent some time to learn more about the render passes with zbrush. i m gonna give myself another day to experiment with it and see what i will end up with.

CB character update

i painted the texture in zbrush. it was lots of fun, without painting on layer, it really feel like working on a painting instead.
