Concepting_WIP

My idea is to design some aliens with EXO suits. I started off with an old base mesh to make a few head design I sculpted and polypainted in zbrush, and did some quick paint over in PS. Then I used zsphere to created the body for one of the head. My next plan is to complete the first one with the helmet, then move onto the other ones.

i created this character base off of Kekai's concept. Budget for the low poly was 4500 tris with 1024*1024 normal, diffuse and specular, and 1 bit alpha was used.

for the final image, i used different materials in zbrush to render out different passes, then composite in photoshop.

finally, worked on something new with my spare time. not so sure how far i m gonna get with this piece, but i m gonna spent some time to learn more about the render passes with zbrush. i m gonna give myself another day to experiment with it and see what i will end up with.

CB character update

i painted the texture in zbrush. it was lots of fun, without painting on layer, it really feel like working on a painting instead.

Creature Box character wip

this was base off a creaturebox.com design. those guys are amazing. I started it over the weekend, its still wip, would want to finish it with texture and render.

Hellboy_WIP (Zbrush)

i began to do these small size alla prima painting. Both of these were done in less than 3 hr. They still need lot of work tho, didn't really came out the way i like. i will continue to work on my skill, and hopefully i will start to get better at it. but more importantly, i am really enjoying it!8x10_o/c
above, this spot was found when i went bike riding with Mike and Chu couple weeks ago. An abandon house that was built on a hill was almost completely bury by the trees, i thought it was really cool, so i went back last week and did a painting of it.

I did this one when Brad and I went to gas work park. It's a very cool park to do painting, i will definitely revisit.

hellboy quick sketch

i m thinking to make a hellboy model with zbrush, so i did a quick sketch to explore the style i want to do. i may do couple more or just try to explore more in zbrush.

still life painting i did in Sandra power's class. It's not complete, but i think i will just leaving it where it is for now, ready to move on to something new. i had learned a lot through this painting,

Sandra was a very good teacher, she really changed the way i see value and color.
